The New York Continuo Collective Presents
The Mannerist Monody of Claudio Saracini
The ultra-expressive mannerism of the Sienese nobleman Claudio Saracini has been compared to that of Sigismondo d'India and Carlo Gesualdo. The New York Continuo Collective explores the Mad Hatter of early Italian monody, presenting selections from four of Saracini's five surviving collections of solo song: Le Musiche (1614), Le Seconde Musiche (1620) Le Terze Musiche (1620) and Le Seste Musiche (1624).
